IGP commends Frank Mba, Other Newly Promoted Officers


The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar has praised the promoted Police Force spokesman, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Frank Mba for changing the image of the Force, as he decorated 9 newly promoted senior police officers.

The IGP, who spoke during the decoration ceremony at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, particularly commended the Force spokesman for his commitment and dedication to Service.

IGP Abubakar said, “particularly the Force Public Relations Officer, who came in almost three years ago and demonstrated that he could bring professionalism, even though not a journalist but a lawyer and a policeman, has changed the face of police image today.”

“It is so glaring...I believe his promotion came because of his commitment and dedication and act of loyalty to the Service, country and changing the face of the police image in this country and the world over,” he added.

The IGP also commended the acts of courage and dedication of all the promoted officers exhibited in the discharge of their responsibilities.

“We believe that promotion is an incentive of encouraging officers to do more in terms of service to their father land, those promoted today have worked very hard in their respective fields and in their respective positions,” he said.

IGP Abubakar cautioned those promoted to live up to their responsibilities and new challenges, “your mannerism must change, if you are a Commissioner of Police and now you become an Assistant Inspector General of Police, you have to do more and we expect leadership in all your actions.”

Ha also said the Police High Command will not hesitate to punish those who cannot project the good image of the Service and the country at large.

Those decorated are; AIG Grace Chita Okudo, CP Elias Okafor Wayemeru, CP Henry Adebayo Fadairo, ACP Yusuf Chiromawa Usman, CP Stella Udusen, CP Paul Okafor, CP Felicia Noelle, CP Ovie Oyokomino and ACP Frank Mba.

Lagos Speaker Seeks Nomination For Guber Election



The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji has informed members of staff of his intention to seek the nomination of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), for the election of governor of Lagos State in 2015.
Ikuforiji, while addressing a meeting of the staff of the Assembly at the weekend, declared that he had consulted with God, and that He has asked him to move on in his bid to be the next governor of the state.
The Speaker said he had also consulted widely with stakeholders in the polity, opinion leaders and his colleagues in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
‘‘I have called on God concerning my ambition and He has given me the approval to go ahead, “he declared.
Ikuforiji asserted that he had succeeded in establishing a virile legislative house, promising to build a state where people will be happy.
“I have not come here to formally declare my ambition to be governor of Lagos State, what I am doing this to inform you of my intention. When the time comes, I will do so and the whole of Lagos will know I do so,” he clarified.
While commending the management and entire staff of the assembly for their professionalism and sense of duty, the Speaker expressed his appreciation for their efforts; and by standing with him to develop the legislature in the state. He also charged them to strive more in the bid to make Lagos Legislature an excellent example in the world.
